365 Project. Day 108, April 18: I was trailing around after the Champinellies while they sang in afterglow rooms tonight. After the San Diego Chorus room, Kim Bone Vaughn pulled the girls out into the hall and gave Sara Christine Littlefield some quick pointers on bass. Then she hugged Jennifer and told her, "Your grandma made me a queen!" You have to understand my long-time adoration of Kim and High Society (1976 Sweet Adelines International Champion quartet, for my civilian friends). I used to follow that quartet around like a dog, from room to room, at every convention. I'd sit at their feet and cry as they sang "My Love is Like A Red Red Rose". They sang in my living room while my parents coached them, and I slavishly listened to every note. Kim has given me voice lessons, she has coached my quartet, she coached Brian's quartet Metropolis. She is IT.
