2015 - 365 Project. Day 117, April 27

365 Project. Day 117, April 27: This picture is in the women's locker room at my gym. When I was at USC, my good friend Sue Wright introduced me to the concept of snagging half-price student tickets to events on the day of the performance. Back then, the American Ballet Theater performed every year at the Shrine Auditorium, which is just across the street from campus. During those years, we got to enjoy several performances of the ABT. Mikhail Baryshnikov was breathtaking. His dancing defied gravity, and there were so many others -- like Patrick Bissell, Kevin McKenzie, Fernando Bujones, Gelsey Kirkland, Cynthia Gregory, Susan Jaffe.. all such amazing dancers, right in our neighborhood. I often thought about taking up ballet, but I always felt like it takes so many years to be able to do anything that's really worth watching that I didn't have the patience for it. That should reveal something about me right there.
