365 Project. Day 42, February 11: So, for anyone following along, I have taken Lola with me twice to my church, because I do a Bible story and singing with some 3 and 4 year olds while their moms are at MOPS. The first time, Lola screamed for a minute when first released to a room with caregivers, but she settled down pretty quickly and was all smiles when I picked her up afterwards. The second time, she screamed a lot more, to the point where she threw up all over the place. Not actually ill, but definitely NOT happy. So this week, a non-MOPS week, I took her to get back on that proverbial horse. This time, I planned on staying with her in the baby room to help her get used to it. As soon as we walked in the door, she started crying. I sat with her, but she soon barfed again. But this time, I helpfully took most of it on me so that it didn't hit the floor. The caregivers sprang into action and cleaned me up (mostly), we went out to the car, got a non-barfy blanket, and headed right back inside. After a few minutes, she started to realize that there are some pretty cool toys in this place! She walked around, ate a couple goldfish, drank her water, played with Jenn Hoffmeyer 's sweet boy Michael, and watched a little Toy Story. Jenny Nazarian was great and everyone on Team Lola helped her enjoy herself a bit. We'll do this again tomorrow, but I'll be better prepared with spare clothing. For both of us.
